I began my day with this beautiful video (please see Chuck's link below) and then went for a walk and found even more beauty and wonders to marvel at. One of the things that came to me as I was walking was the understanding that some of the beauty I was witnessing needed drastic changes in weather to start the transformation process. The beautiful fall hues would not happen without the cold weather. The greenness of the hillsides and the crisp fresh scents that assaulted me wouldn't be there if it was always sunny and mild.
I just viewed this marvelous video again and realized that all that incredible scenery wouldn't have been so dramatic and heart-wrenchingly beautiful if our earth hadn't gone through major upheavals and drastic changes.
I find it incredible that the Lord can give me peace and put my trials and tribulations in perspective by showing me His might and power through the awe inspiring world that He has created...and at the same time help me to understand that I am like that world. I am in the process of becoming heart-wrenchingly beautiful on the inside as He shifts my world; sending earthquakes and peace, floods and dry times, ice storms and warm sun, mild sprinkles and major storms.
Look at the world and all its wonder and understand that we are that miracle in human form; ever changing, ever growing, amazing in our spiritual beauty and terrifying in our sinful depths. But, through all upheaval will come joy and beauty...sometimes immediately and sometimes after what seems like centuries of repair and regrowth. See this in all aspects of your life...church, work, home. Know that if He can create things beyond your wildest imaginings just for the sheer beauty of it He can and will create in you something even better!
Bless you all this day,
Leah

You might want to watch this with a couple of things in mind: Does it cause you to be thankful for God’s creation? Does in bring up memories from the near or distant past? In a darkening world; a brilliant 6 minute pin point of light (and sound). My memory; a raft trip through the Grand Canyon, down the Colorado River with my friend John and riding a really big wave on New Year’s day in 1956. <>< |
