Good morning everyone,
This morning I began my day mentally wrangling all of my "to dos" and "wished I could dos" (without much success). A lot of what is on my plate seems way too much for me to handle and my confidence was experiencing some major tremors. Into this destabilization came the music and lyrics of a song that has seen me through many a troubled time over the last 7 years. Immediately I was calmed and reminded of the previous times when I've felt this way. The Lord helped me through them and I was always stronger in His love after experiencing those times.
The song is "Fields of Plenty/Be Still my Soul" by Amy Grant. Here is a link to the song on godtube.com: http://www.godtube.com/watch/?v=9F29C1NU
The music, the lyrics, and the bible verse that Amy shares at the end, all combine together to bring me peace. I looked up "Be Still my Soul" online and found that there are more verses to the song than Amy sings. I have included them below. I pray these words will speak to your hearts and give you peace in the love of our Lord and His never failing providence.
All my love, prayed for blessings and soul stilling peace,
Leah
"Be Still, My Soul"
by Catharina von Schlegel, 1697-?
Translated by Jane Borthwick, 1813-1897
1. Be still, my soul; the Lord is on thy side;
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain;
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In every change He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul; thy best, thy heavenly, Friend
Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.
2. Be still, my soul; thy God doth undertake
To guide the future as He has the past.
Thy hope, thy confidence, let nothing shake;
All now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul; the waves and winds still know
His voice who ruled them while He dwelt below.
3. Be still, my soul, though dearest friends depart
And all is darkened in the vale of tears;
Then shalt thou better know His love, His heart,
Who comes to soothe thy sorrows and thy fears.
Be still, my soul; thy Jesus can repay
From His own fullness all He takes away.
4. Be still, my soul; the hour is hastening on
When we shall be forever with the Lord,
When disappointment, grief, and fear are gone,
Sorrow forgot, love's purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul; when change and tears are past,
All safe and blessed we shall meet at last.

Delight yourselves in the Lord. Yes, and find your joy in Him. Be known for your gentleness. And never forget the nearness of our God.
And don't worry - whatever is going to come. Just tell God every detail and the peace of God that no one understands will come to you.
No, don't worry. Just tell Him every detail and His peace will come to you.
Philippians 4:4-7 Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again - rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
(this is on a sticky note on my laptop screen for me to reminded every day of where to look when I'm facing troubles)
