Strength and Security

Jesus answered, “If I want glory for myself, it doesn’t count. But it is my Father who will glorify me. You say, ‘He is our God,’ but you don’t even know him. I know him. If I said otherwise, I would be as great a liar as you! But I do know him and obey him. Your father Abraham rejoiced as he looked forward to my coming. He saw it and was glad.”
The people said, “You aren’t even fifty years old. How can you say you have seen Abraham?”

Strength and Security

My mind and heart can’t wrap themselves around the awesome thought of our Savior, Lord and Friend being right there in the beginning.

     To know Him is to know everything.

          To love Him is to have that solid core of truth and perfection center us as nothing else can.

Before there was all this chaos and confusion, He WAS!
     And He is here.
          And He is inside us.

                The beginning.
                                      The end.

All this silliness doesn’t matter.
     Only the knowledge that He IS and He loves us matters.
          Such strength and security.

What a miracle we have in Jesus.

Dear Jesus – Thank you for centering me this morning and reminding me of your strength. In this life I have a tendency to bounce from task to task and immediate desire to immediate “need.” I am pulled this way and that and lose focus on what is truly important. And there you are, outside of time and space, understanding my craziness and yet always removed from the lies of this world. You shine your truth to guide me to your peace and security. I love you, Lord. Thank you for loving me back. Amen.
