Knowledge of the Holy Spirit

I was listening to K-Love last night and they had a special segment on one of their current artists and the new song that he had written.  He wrote the song, “The Light in Me,” about the Holy Spirit and stated that he’s only now coming to understand and know the Spirit’s power and working in his life.  My thought was, “How can he have gotten this far with his music and ministry without being completely knowledgeable of and filled with the Holy Spirit?”

I prayed about this question, and the answer I got was, “My power is not held back by your lack of knowledge. It is only thwarted by your lack of love.”

The Holy Spirit can move through us and out to touch the world if we’re open, loving and willing.  Knowing Him is far better…but sometimes that takes time. 

In fact, a lifetime. 

I count myself blessed that I have been given the smallest glimpse into the mysteries that are our Triune God. I am grateful that I do have some knowledge of the Holy Spirit and how He works in our lives to increase our connection with our Heavenly Father and our blessed Savior, Jesus.

Dear Lord – Thank you for helping me know You. I want to know more of You! I pray that we all will grow in our knowledge and connection to You today and incrementally more in the coming days. I love that You work through me, even when I am not aware.  But, I love it even more when I can sit back and SEE your power working…through me and through all of your children here on earth.  I love you with a bright, shining, incredibly joyful love this morning! Amen.
